Description

Delicious grass-fed hamburger patties smothered in cheese and butter, perfect for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound grass-fed ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 hamburger buns (optional)
  • Lettuce, tomato, and pickles for toppings (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined; avoid overworking the meat.
  3. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing while cooking.
  4. Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip.
  5. After flipping, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and add 1 tablespoon of butter on top. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patties reach your desired doneness (145°F for medium-rare).
  6. If using hamburger buns, toast them on the grill or in a separate skillet during the last minute of cooking.
  7. Assemble the burgers by placing each patty on a bun (if using) and adding your choice of lettuce, tomato, and pickles. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For added flavor, mix in some Worcestershire sauce or hot sauce into the ground beef before forming the patties.
  • Experiment with different types of cheese, such as pepper jack or blue cheese, for a unique twist on the classic flavor.
