Ingredients

  • 1 can young green jackfruit in brine, drained and rinsed
  • 2 tablespoons gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • Slider buns
  • Pickled vegetables (for topping)
  • Fresh cilantro (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat.
  2. Add diced onion and sauté until translucent.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for an additional minute.
  4. Add the drained jackfruit to the skillet and cook for about 5 minutes, breaking it apart with a fork.
  5. In a small bowl, mix gochujang, soy sauce, maple syrup, and sesame oil.
  6. Pour the sauce over the jackfruit and stir to combine, cooking for another 5-7 minutes until heated through.
  7. Assemble sliders by placing the jackfruit mixture on slider buns and topping with pickled vegetables and fresh cilantro.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add more gochujang to taste.
  • These sliders can be made ahead of time and reheated before serving.
  • Serve with a side of sweet potato fries for a complete meal.
