- 1 can young green jackfruit in brine, drained and rinsed
- 2 tablespoons gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- Slider buns
- Pickled vegetables (for topping)
- Fresh cilantro (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat.
- Add diced onion and sauté until translucent.
- Stir in minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for an additional minute.
- Add the drained jackfruit to the skillet and cook for about 5 minutes, breaking it apart with a fork.
- In a small bowl, mix gochujang, soy sauce, maple syrup, and sesame oil.
- Pour the sauce over the jackfruit and stir to combine, cooking for another 5-7 minutes until heated through.
- Assemble sliders by placing the jackfruit mixture on slider buns and topping with pickled vegetables and fresh cilantro.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add more gochujang to taste.
- These sliders can be made ahead of time and reheated before serving.
- Serve with a side of sweet potato fries for a complete meal.
