Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- Cooked rice or pasta, for serving
Instructions
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) to the skillet. Sauté for about 1-2 minutes until the garlic is fragrant but not browned.
- Season the shrimp with salt and pepper, then add them to the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side until they turn pink, then flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fully cooked.
- Stir in the lemon juice and chopped parsley. Cook for an additional minute to combine the flavors.
- Serve immediately over cooked rice or pasta.
Notes
- For a creamier sauce, add 1/4 cup of heavy cream after the shrimp is cooked and stir until heated through.
- Customize the dish by adding vegetables like spinach, bell peppers, or asparagus during the garlic sautéing step for added nutrition and flavor.
