Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup erythritol (or your favorite keto-friendly sweetener)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar-free chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare an 8×8-inch baking dish by lining it with parchment paper.
  3. In a spacious bowl, mix together the almond butter and cocoa powder until smooth.
  4. Add in the erythritol, eggs, applesauce, vanilla extract, baking soda, and salt, stirring until creamy.
  5. If using, gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Transfer the batter into the lined baking dish and smooth the top with a spatula.
  7. Bake for approximately 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are firm and a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  8. Let the squares cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then lift them out using the parchment paper.
  9. Allow them to cool completely on a wire rack before slicing into squares.
