Description
A delicious flatbread topped with fresh figs, rosemary, and goat cheese, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 3/4 cup warm water (about 110°F)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 cup fresh figs, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1/4 cup goat cheese, crumbled
- 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, and sugar. In a separate small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick.
- Transfer the rolled dough to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Evenly distribute the chopped figs and rosemary over the surface of the dough. Sprinkle the crumbled goat cheese on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and drizzle with balsamic glaze if desired. Let cool for a few minutes before slicing.
Notes
- For a sweeter flatbread, add a tablespoon of honey to the dough before kneading.
- Substitute fresh figs with dried figs or pears for a different flavor profile.
