Extra Creamy Holiday Hot Chocolate is a festive delight!

- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Whipped cream, for topping
- Chocolate shavings or marshmallows, for garnish
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the whole milk and heavy cream. Heat until the mixture is warm but not boiling, stirring occasionally.
- Add the semi-sweet chocolate chips, unsweetened cocoa powder, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt to the warm milk mixture. Stir continuously until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Once fully combined, remove the saucepan from heat. Taste and adjust sweetness if desired by adding more sugar.
- Pour the hot chocolate into mugs and top with whipped cream. Garnish with chocolate shavings or marshmallows if desired.
- Serve immediately and enjoy the rich, creamy flavor of your holiday hot chocolate.
Notes
- For a peppermint twist, add 1/4 teaspoon of peppermint extract to the hot chocolate mixture.
