Ingredients
Scale
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1 cup Greek yogurt (plain, non-fat or full-fat)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, Greek yogurt, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Fold in the chocolate chips, reserving a few to sprinkle on top if desired.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Sprinkle the reserved chocolate chips on top.
- Bake for 55-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For a lighter version, substitute half of the granulated sugar with a sugar substitute like Stevia or monk fruit.
- Add chopped nuts, such as walnuts or pecans, for added texture and flavor.
