Description

Indulge in a rich, creamy black cheesecake that combines the flavors of chocolate and cream cheese for a decadent dessert experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 24 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan with cooking spray or butter.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the chocolate cookie crumbs and melted butter. Mix until the crumbs are evenly coated. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared springform pan to form the crust. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove from the oven and let cool.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth and creamy.
  4. Gradually add the granulated sugar and continue to beat until well combined.
  5. Add the vanilla extract and mix in the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  6. Add the sour cream, cocoa powder, heavy cream, and salt. Mix until the batter is smooth and fully combined.
  7. Pour the cheesecake batter over the cooled crust in the springform pan.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still slightly jiggly.
  9. Turn off the oven and crack the door open, allowing the cheesecake to cool in the oven for 1 hour.
  10. Remove the cheesecake from the oven and let it cool to room temperature. Once cooled, refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.
  11. Before serving, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form. Spread or pipe the whipped cream on top of the cheesecake.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, consider adding a tablespoon of espresso powder to the batter.
  • You can also top the cheesecake with chocolate ganache or fresh berries for added texture and flavor.
