  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoons salmon roe
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped (optional)
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels to ensure the skin gets crispy. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  3. Carefully place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the skillet. Press down gently with a spatula to ensure even contact with the pan.
  4. Cook for about 5-7 minutes without moving the fillets, until the skin is crispy and the salmon is cooked about two-thirds of the way through.
  5. Flip the fillets and add the butter to the pan. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, basting the salmon with the melted butter, until the salmon is cooked to your desired doneness.
  6. Remove the salmon from the skillet and let it rest for a minute.
  7. Plate the salmon fillets and top each with a spoonful of salmon roe. Garnish with fresh dill if desired and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
