Description
A delicious recipe for crispy skin salmon fillet topped with salmon roe, perfect for a special meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 (6-ounce) salmon fillets, skin-on
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 tablespoons salmon roe
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped (optional)
- Lemon wedges, for serving
Instructions
- Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels to ensure the skin gets crispy. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Heat the olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Carefully place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the skillet. Press down gently with a spatula to ensure even contact with the pan.
- Cook for about 5-7 minutes without moving the fillets, until the skin is crispy and the salmon is cooked about two-thirds of the way through.
- Flip the fillets and add the butter to the pan. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, basting the salmon with the melted butter, until the salmon is cooked to your desired doneness.
- Remove the salmon from the skillet and let it rest for a minute.
- Plate the salmon fillets and top each with a spoonful of salmon roe. Garnish with fresh dill if desired and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate the salmon fillets in a mixture of soy sauce, garlic, and ginger for 30 minutes before cooking.
- Try serving the salmon over a bed of sautéed spinach or alongside roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
