Description
Crispy Ear Ramen is a delicious and unique dish that combines the rich flavors of pork ear with ramen noodles in a savory broth.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces ramen noodles
- 1 cup pork ear, cleaned and sliced thin
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon chili paste (optional)
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 1 soft-boiled egg (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a pot, bring water to a boil and cook the ramen noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the sliced pork ear and cook until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Pour in the chicken broth, soy sauce, sesame oil, and chili paste (if using). Bring to a simmer.
- Add the cooked ramen noodles to the broth and stir to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve the ramen in bowls, topped with crispy pork ear, sliced green onions, and a soft-boiled egg if desired.
Notes
- For extra crunch, try adding some fried shallots on top.
- If you want a vegetarian version, substitute the pork ear with sautéed mushrooms and use vegetable broth instead of chicken broth.
