Description
A delightful recipe for creamy rice pudding infused with orange blossom water, perfect for a comforting dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup Arborio rice
- 4 cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon orange blossom water
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Zest of 1 orange
- Chopped pistachios or almonds for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine the Arborio rice, whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, and salt. Stir well to combine.
- Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring frequently to prevent the rice from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
- Once simmering, reduce the heat to low and cook for about 25-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the rice is tender and the mixture has thickened to a creamy consistency.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract, orange blossom water, ground cinnamon, and orange zest. Mix until well combined.
- Allow the rice pudding to cool slightly before serving. You can serve it warm or chill it in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours for a cold dessert.
- When ready to serve, spoon the rice pudding into bowls and garnish with chopped pistachios or almonds if desired.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, substitute half of the whole milk with coconut milk.
- Add dried fruits like raisins or cranberries during the last 5 minutes of cooking for added texture and sweetness.
