Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the Arborio rice, whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, and salt. Stir well to combine.
  2. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring frequently to prevent the rice from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
  3. Once simmering, reduce the heat to low and cook for about 25-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the rice is tender and the mixture has thickened to a creamy consistency.
  4. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract, orange blossom water, ground cinnamon, and orange zest. Mix until well combined.
  5. Allow the rice pudding to cool slightly before serving. You can serve it warm or chill it in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours for a cold dessert.
  6. When ready to serve, spoon the rice pudding into bowls and garnish with chopped pistachios or almonds if desired.
