- 4 slices of bread (sourdough or your choice)
- 1 ripe avocado, mashed
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons cream cheese (optional, for extra creaminess)
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Pinch of chili flakes or everything bagel seasoning (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mash the avocado with salt, pepper, and optional chili flakes.
- Spread a thin layer of cream cheese on one side of each bread slice (optional).
- Spread mashed avocado over the cream cheese on two slices.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese on top of the avocado, then cover with the remaining bread slices.
- Butter the outsides of the sandwiches.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and grill the sandwiches 3–4 minutes per side, until golden and the cheese is melted.
- Slice and serve warm.
