Cocoa Spiced Salmon: A Delicious Flavor Adventure!


Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets (6 ounces each)
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • Lime wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a small bowl, combine cocoa powder, brown sugar, smoked paprika, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create a spice rub.
  3. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Place them skin-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Drizzle olive oil and lime juice over the salmon fillets. Rub the spice mixture evenly over the top of each fillet.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and is cooked to your desired doneness.
  6. Remove from the oven and let rest for a few minutes before serving. Serve with lime wedges on the side.

Notes

  • For a sweeter flavor, add an extra teaspoon of brown sugar to the spice mix.
  • Serve the salmon over a bed of quinoa or alongside roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
