Description

This easy Classic Bruschetta Recipe is made with fresh tomatoes, basil, garlic, and olive oil, served on toasted bread. It’s a perfect appetizer or light snack!


Ingredients

  • 4 ripe plum tomatoes, diced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced (plus 1 whole clove for rubbing the bread)
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 baguette or Italian loaf, sliced
  • Optional: balsamic vinegar or glaze

Instructions

  • Dice tomatoes and combine with chopped basil, minced garlic, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Let sit for 10-15 minutes.
  • Toast bread slices in the oven or on the grill until golden brown.
  • Rub each slice of bread with a whole garlic clove.
  • Top with the tomato mixture and drizzle with balsamic if desired. Serve immediately

Notes

  • For added flavor, drizzle balsamic glaze over the assembled bruschetta.
