Description
Cinnamon Sugar Biscuit Bites are irresistibly delicious treats that are perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for coating)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, 1/4 cup sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon until well combined.
- Add the cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture. Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Pour in the milk and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; the dough should be slightly sticky.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently knead it a few times until it comes together.
- Roll the dough out to about 1/2-inch thickness. Using a biscuit cutter or a round glass, cut out circles of dough and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the tops are lightly golden.
- While the biscuits are baking, mix together the 1/4 cup sugar and 1 tablespoon cinnamon in a small bowl.
- Once the biscuits are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool for 5 minutes. While they are still warm, toss them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
- For a richer flavor, try adding a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the milk.
- You can also substitute half of the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour for a nuttier taste.
