Description

A festive and creative recipe for Christmas Tree Deviled Eggs, perfect for holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped celery
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green onions
  • Fresh parsley or dill for garnish

Instructions

  1. Hard boil the eggs by placing them in a pot and covering them with cold water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then cover and remove from heat. Let sit for 12 minutes.
  2. After 12 minutes, transfer the eggs to an ice bath to cool for about 10 minutes. Once cooled, peel the eggs and slice them in half lengthwise.
  3. Carefully remove the yolks and place them in a mixing bowl. Set the egg whites aside.
  4. Mash the yolks with a fork, then add mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, white vinegar, salt, pepper, and paprika. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  5. Fold in the chopped green bell pepper, red bell pepper, celery, and green onions until evenly distributed.
  6. Using a piping bag or a spoon, fill each egg white half with the yolk mixture.
  7. To create the Christmas tree shape, arrange the filled egg halves in a triangle on a serving platter, starting with one egg at the top and layering down to form a tree shape.
  8. Garnish the top of the ‘tree’ with fresh parsley or dill to resemble a tree topper. Optionally, sprinkle additional paprika for color.
  9. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.

Notes

  • For a spicy kick, add a dash of hot sauce to the yolk mixture.
  • You can also substitute the green and red bell peppers with finely chopped olives or pickles for a different flavor.
