Description
A festive and creative recipe for Christmas Tree Deviled Eggs, perfect for holiday gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 large eggs
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 cup finely chopped green bell pepper
- 1/4 cup finely chopped red bell pepper
- 1/4 cup finely chopped celery
- 1/4 cup finely chopped green onions
- Fresh parsley or dill for garnish
Instructions
- Hard boil the eggs by placing them in a pot and covering them with cold water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then cover and remove from heat. Let sit for 12 minutes.
- After 12 minutes, transfer the eggs to an ice bath to cool for about 10 minutes. Once cooled, peel the eggs and slice them in half lengthwise.
- Carefully remove the yolks and place them in a mixing bowl. Set the egg whites aside.
- Mash the yolks with a fork, then add mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, white vinegar, salt, pepper, and paprika. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- Fold in the chopped green bell pepper, red bell pepper, celery, and green onions until evenly distributed.
- Using a piping bag or a spoon, fill each egg white half with the yolk mixture.
- To create the Christmas tree shape, arrange the filled egg halves in a triangle on a serving platter, starting with one egg at the top and layering down to form a tree shape.
- Garnish the top of the ‘tree’ with fresh parsley or dill to resemble a tree topper. Optionally, sprinkle additional paprika for color.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.
Notes
- For a spicy kick, add a dash of hot sauce to the yolk mixture.
- You can also substitute the green and red bell peppers with finely chopped olives or pickles for a different flavor.
