Description
Christmas Chocolate Trees are easy to make and fun!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
- 1 cup crushed pretzels
- 1 cup green candy melts
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate candies (M&M’s or similar)
- 1/4 cup edible glitter or sprinkles (optional)
- Parchment paper
Instructions
- Melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips and coconut oil together in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Using a piping bag or a zip-top bag with the corner snipped off, pipe the melted chocolate into tree shapes on the parchment paper. Make each tree about 4 inches tall and 3 inches wide, with branches extending outwards.
- While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle crushed pretzels on the bottom of each tree to resemble the trunk. Allow the chocolate trees to set at room temperature for about 30 minutes or until firm.
- Melt the green candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl, again in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Once the chocolate trees have set, dip each tree into the melted green candy melts, covering them completely. Allow excess to drip off.
- Place the dipped trees back on the parchment paper and immediately add mini chocolate candies as ornaments and sprinkle with edible glitter or sprinkles if desired. Let the trees set for another 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Once fully set, carefully peel the trees off the parchment paper and serve.
Notes
- For a fun twist, try using white chocolate instead of semi-sweet for a snowy effect.
- You can also add a variety of toppings like chopped nuts or dried fruit for added texture and flavor.
