Description

A rich and creamy dessert that combines the flavors of chocolate and mascarpone cheese, perfect for any special occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 8 ounces mascarpone cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 ounces dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate shavings (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, melt the chopped dark chocolate over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and sea salt. Using an electric mixer, beat on medium speed until soft peaks form.
  3. Gently fold the melted chocolate into the whipped cream mixture until fully combined and smooth.
  4. Line a dome-shaped mold or a bowl with plastic wrap, leaving enough overhang to cover the top.
  5. Pour half of the chocolate mascarpone mixture into the mold, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  6. If desired, sprinkle a layer of cocoa powder over the mixture for added flavor.
  7. Pour the remaining chocolate mascarpone mixture on top and smooth the surface.
  8. Cover with the overhanging plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.
  9. Once set, carefully invert the mold onto a serving plate and gently remove the plastic wrap.
  10. Dust the top with cocoa powder and garnish with chocolate shavings before serving.

Notes

  • For a mocha flavor, add 1 tablespoon of instant coffee granules to the melted chocolate.
  • For a fruit twist, layer fresh raspberries or strawberries in between the chocolate mascarpone layers before chilling.
