Description
Delicious and easy-to-make Chocolate Covered Cookie-and-Cream Truffles that are perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup crushed chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreos)
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Additional crushed chocolate sandwich cookies for rolling
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed chocolate sandwich cookies, softened cream cheese, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined and smooth.
- Using your hands, scoop out about 1 tablespoon of the mixture and roll it into a ball. Place the truffles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Repeat until all the mixture is used.
- Chill the truffles in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips and vegetable oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
- Remove the chilled truffles from the refrigerator. Dip each truffle into the melted chocolate, allowing any excess chocolate to drip off.
- Roll the truffles in additional crushed chocolate sandwich cookies for coating. Return the coated truffles to the parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Once all truffles are coated, refrigerate them for an additional 15-20 minutes to set the chocolate.
- Serve chilled.
Notes
- For a festive touch, add a few drops of peppermint extract to the cream cheese mixture for a minty flavor.
- Try using white chocolate instead of semi-sweet for a different flavor profile and appearance.
