Description
A refreshing blend of Earl Grey tea with cherries and vanilla, perfect for a delightful beverage.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups water
- 2 tablespoons loose Earl Grey tea or 4 tea bags
- 1/2 cup fresh or frozen cherries, pitted and halved
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1–2 tablespoons honey or sugar (to taste)
- 1/2 cup milk or dairy alternative (optional)
- Ice cubes (for iced version)
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
- Once boiling, remove from heat and add the Earl Grey tea. Let it steep for 5 minutes.
- While the tea is steeping, prepare the cherries by pitting and halving them if using fresh. If using frozen, allow them to thaw slightly.
- After 5 minutes, strain the tea into a pitcher to remove the tea leaves or bags.
- Stir in the cherries, vanilla extract, and honey or sugar. Adjust sweetness to taste.
- Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to chill.
- If serving iced, fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled tea over the ice. Optionally, add milk or a dairy alternative for a creamier texture.
- Garnish with additional cherries or a sprig of mint if desired.
Notes
- For a stronger cherry flavor, consider blending the cherries into a puree before adding them to the tea.
- For a refreshing twist, add a splash of lemon juice or a few slices of lemon when serving.
