Instructions
- In a medium skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the diced apples and lemon juice, stirring to coat.
- Cook for about 5 minutes until the apples are tender.
- Stir in the granulated sugar and cinnamon, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is caramelized.
- Remove from heat and let cool.
- In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth.
- Add the heavy cream, vanilla extract, and salt. Beat until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Gently fold the cooled apple mixture into the cream cheese mixture until well combined.
- Spoon the mousse into serving cups, layering with caramel sauce and chopped nuts if desired.
- Top with a sprinkle of graham cracker crumbs for garnish.
- Chill the mousse cups in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

- For a lighter version, substitute the heavy cream with whipped coconut cream.
- For added flavor, mix in a pinch of nutmeg or use different types of apples for varied sweetness.
