Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a donut pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt, whisking until well blended.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  4. Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined; be careful not to overmix.
  5. Spoon the batter into the donut pan, filling each mold about two-thirds full.
  6. Bake for approximately 10-12 minutes, or until the donuts are golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. While the donuts are cooling, prepare the crème brûlée filling by warming the heavy cream in a small saucepan over medium heat until it begins to simmer.
  8. In another bowl, combine the brown sugar with a pinch of salt, then slowly whisk in the hot cream until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
  9. Once the donuts have cooled slightly, transfer them to a wire rack.
  10. Use a small knife to create a small opening in the side of each donut, then carefully pipe or spoon in the creamy filling.
  11. Generously sprinkle the tops of the donuts with granulated sugar.
  12. To achieve that signature brûlée crust, use a kitchen torch to caramelize the sugar until it forms a crispy layer.
  13. If you lack a torch, place the donuts under a broiler for a brief period, keeping a close eye to avoid burning.
  14. Allow the caramelized sugar to cool and harden before indulging in these delightful treats.
