  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper (optional)
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 8 ounces softened cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 8 pieces of pita or flatbreads
  • Sliced fresh vegetables (lettuce, tomatoes, onions) for serving

Instructions

  1. Mix the ground beef and ground pork in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Sprinkle in the sea salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and crushed red pepper if desired. Blend thoroughly.
  3. Slowly pour in the cold water, stirring until the mixture becomes slightly tacky.
  4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it chill in the refrigerator for at least half an hour.
  5. In another bowl, combine the softened cream cheese with the grated cheddar cheese, chopped parsley, lemon juice, and soy sauce. Mix until creamy and smooth.
  6. Preheat your grill to a medium-high setting.
  7. Form the chilled meat mixture into sausage shapes or patties.
  8. Grill the sausages for approximately 6-8 minutes on each side, ensuring they are fully cooked and have an internal temperature of 160°F.
  9. Warm the pita or flatbreads on the grill for about a minute on each side.
  10. Spread a generous layer of the creamy cheese dip over the warm pita or flatbread, place the grilled sausages on top, and finish with fresh vegetables.
