Description

Black Velvet Cheesecake Cookies are a must-try delight!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and lemon juice until smooth and creamy.
  7. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop a ball of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Make a small indentation in the center of each dough ball and fill it with about a teaspoon of the cream cheese mixture.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set.
  10. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • These cookies are best served warm, but can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.
  • For a richer flavor, try adding a teaspoon of espresso powder to the cookie dough.
  • You can also substitute half of the chocolate chips with white chocolate chips for a delicious contrast.
