Decadent Chocolate Brownies topped with a creamy salted peanut butter frosting.

- 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
- 8 ounces bittersweet chocolate, finely chopped
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- For the topping:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup smooth peanut butter
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- Prepare a 9×13-inch baking dish by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
- In a saucepan over low heat, combine the butter and chopped bittersweet chocolate, stirring until melted and smooth.
- Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes.
- In a large bowl, mix together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well blended.
- Slowly incorporate the cooled chocolate mixture, stirring until combined and smooth.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, salt, and baking powder.
- Gently fold the dry ingredients into the chocolate mixture until just combined.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth it out evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let the brownies cool in the pan.
- While cooling, prepare the peanut butter topping by beating the softened butter and peanut butter together until creamy.
- Gradually add the powdered sugar and milk, mixing until smooth.
- Stir in the vanilla extract and sea salt.
- Once the brownies are completely cooled, spread the peanut butter topping generously over the surface.
- Cut into squares and enjoy!
