Description

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces bittersweet chocolate, finely chopped
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • For the topping:
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup smooth peanut butter
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. Prepare a 9×13-inch baking dish by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
  3. In a saucepan over low heat, combine the butter and chopped bittersweet chocolate, stirring until melted and smooth.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes.
  5. In a large bowl, mix together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well blended.
  6. Slowly incorporate the cooled chocolate mixture, stirring until combined and smooth.
  7. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, salt, and baking powder.
  8. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the chocolate mixture until just combined.
  9. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth it out evenly.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  11. Let the brownies cool in the pan.
  12. While cooling, prepare the peanut butter topping by beating the softened butter and peanut butter together until creamy.
  13. Gradually add the powdered sugar and milk, mixing until smooth.
  14. Stir in the vanilla extract and sea salt.
  15. Once the brownies are completely cooled, spread the peanut butter topping generously over the surface.
  16. Cut into squares and enjoy!
