- 2 slices whole grain bread
- 4 ounces sliced turkey breast
- 2 slices Swiss cheese
- 1/4 cup fresh spinach leaves
- 1/4 cup sliced tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for grilling, optional)
Instructions
- Start by spreading the Dijon mustard on one slice of bread and the mayonnaise on the other slice.
- Layer the sliced turkey breast evenly on the mustard side of the bread.
- Add the Swiss cheese on top of the turkey, followed by the fresh spinach leaves and sliced tomatoes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Place the second slice of bread on top, mayonnaise side down, to complete the sandwich.
- If desired, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Place the sandwich in the skillet and grill for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Remove the sandwich from the skillet, let it cool for a minute, then slice in half and serve.
Notes
- For added flavor, include sliced avocado or crispy bacon in the sandwich.
- Try using different types of bread, such as ciabatta or sourdough, for a unique twist.
