- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup holiday-themed sprinkles
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips, sprinkles, and nuts (if using).
- Spread the cookie dough evenly in the prepared baking pan.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cool, cut into bars and serve.
Notes
- For a festive twist, try adding peppermint extract instead of vanilla for a minty flavor.
- You can also substitute white chocolate chips for a different taste and appearance.
