Description
Learn how to make crispy beet crackers that are both delicious and healthy.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 medium-sized beets, peeled and cut into thin rounds
- 1 cup almond meal
- 1/4 cup ground flaxseed
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the almond meal, ground flaxseed, sea salt, garlic powder, and onion powder until well combined.
- Gradually pour in the olive oil and water, stirring until the mixture forms a cohesive dough.
- Gently incorporate the beet slices, ensuring they are well mixed into the dough.
- Transfer the dough onto the lined baking sheet, spreading it out evenly to about 1/8 inch in thickness.
- With a knife or pizza cutter, create a grid pattern by scoring the dough into individual cracker shapes.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges turn golden and crispy while the center remains firm.
- Once baked, take them out of the oven and allow them to cool completely before breaking apart along the scored lines.
Notes
- Ensure the beets are cut into thin rounds for even cooking.
- Store any leftover crackers in an airtight container to maintain crispness.
