Description

Beef-Wrapped Cream Cheese Jalapeños are a deliciously spicy appetizer that combines the creaminess of cheese with the heat of jalapeños, all wrapped in savory ground beef.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 large jalapeño peppers
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
  2. Cut the jalapeños in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes for less heat (or leave some for extra spice).
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  4. Spoon the cream cheese mixture into each jalapeño half, filling them generously.
  5. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
  6. Take a spoonful of cooked ground beef and press it onto the cream cheese-filled jalapeños, covering them completely.
  7. Place the beef-wrapped jalapeños on the prepared baking sheet. If desired, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top of each jalapeño.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the beef is cooked through and the jalapeños are tender.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh cilantro if desired before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, leave some seeds in the jalapeños or use hotter varieties like serranos.
  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option, and add diced onions or bell peppers to the beef mixture for extra flavor.
