Description
Beef Tongue Carnivore Tacos are a delicious meat delight, featuring tender beef tongue served without a shell, just meat!
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds beef tongue
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup diced onions
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 lime, cut into wedges
Instructions
- Rinse the beef tongue under cold water and place it in a large pot. Cover with water and add salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 2 to 3 hours, or until the tongue is tender.
- Once cooked, remove the tongue from the pot and let it cool slightly. Peel off the outer skin and slice the tongue into thin pieces.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onions and sauté until they become translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add the sliced beef tongue to the skillet along with black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the meat is heated through and slightly crispy.
- Remove from heat and serve the beef tongue in a bowl, topped with diced tomatoes and chopped cilantro. Squeeze fresh lime juice over the top before serving.
Notes
- For added flavor, marinate the beef tongue in your favorite spices or hot sauce for a few hours before cooking.
- Serve with avocado slices or guacamole for a creamy texture that complements the meat.
