- 2 cups cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon matcha powder
- 1 tablespoon hot water
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a 9-inch springform pan with parchment paper, ensuring the paper extends above the edges of the pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and granulated sugar together until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the heavy cream, eggs, and vanilla extract to the cream cheese mixture. Mix until fully combined.
- Sift in the flour and salt, then mix until just incorporated. Do not overmix.
- In a small bowl, combine the matcha powder and hot water to create a smooth paste. Take about 1 cup of the cheesecake batter and mix it with the matcha paste until well combined.
- Pour half of the plain cheesecake batter into the prepared springform pan. Spoon the matcha batter over the plain batter, then pour the remaining plain batter on top. Use a knife or skewer to gently swirl the matcha into the cheesecake for a marbled effect.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is deeply browned and the center is slightly jiggly. Remove from the oven and let cool to room temperature.
- Once cooled, refrigerate the cheesecake for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving to allow it to set properly.
Notes
- This recipe serves 8.
- For a lighter version, substitute half of the cream cheese with Greek yogurt.
- For a chocolate twist, add 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder to the plain batter before baking.
