Description

These Baked Ham and Cheese Sliders are a quick and delicious meal option, perfect for gatherings or a simple family dinner. Made with sweet Hawaiian rolls, deli ham, and a mix of cheddar and Swiss cheese, these sliders are topped with a flavorful butter glaze and baked to perfection.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (12-count) King’s Hawaiian Original Sweet Rolls
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • ½ pound thinly sliced deli ham (Black Forest recommended)
  • ¼ pound sliced sharp cheddar cheese
  • ¼ pound sliced Swiss cheese
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1½ teaspoons poppy seeds
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Pinch of kosher salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Toast the Buns: Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally using a serrated knife, keeping the top halves connected. Place the cut sides up on a baking sheet and broil for 1–2 minutes until lightly golden. Watch closely—they toast quickly.
  2. Make the Spread: In a small bowl, stir together mayonnaise and Dijon mustard.
  3. Assemble the Sliders: Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Place the bottom halves of the buns inside. Spread most of the Dijon-mayo mixture over them. Layer with cheddar slices, ham, and then Swiss slices. Spread the remaining Dijon-mayo mix on the underside of the top buns and place them over the fillings.
  4. Make the Glaze: In another bowl, mix melted butter with Worcestershire sauce, poppy seeds, onion powder, and a pinch of salt. Brush this mixture generously over the tops and edges of the sliders.
  5. Bake: Cover with foil and bake at 350°F for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 5–10 minutes until the tops are golden and the cheese is melted. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For a different twist, try turkey, roast beef, or roasted veggies instead of ham.
  • Bake on a parchment-lined baking sheet for a crispier bottom.
  • Assemble ahead and refrigerate—just add the glaze before baking.
  • Leftovers? Reheat in a 350°F oven for 10 minutes, uncovered for the last few minutes to crisp up.
