A delicious recipe for baked falafel served with a creamy tahini sauce.
Ingredients

- 1½ cups canned chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- ¼ cup chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- ¼ cup chopped parsley
- ¼ cup chopped cilantro
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons flour or chickpea flour
- ¼ cup tahini
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 2–4 tablespoons water
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Pulse all falafel ingredients in a food processor until combined but chunky.
- Form into small patties or balls and place on the baking sheet.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and firm.
- Whisk tahini, lemon juice, garlic, and water in a bowl until creamy.
- Serve falafel with tahini sauce and pita or salad.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of water in the tahini sauce to achieve desired consistency.
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the falafel mixture.
