- 2 ripe avocados
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup lime juice (about 2 limes)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup heavy cream (chilled)
- Lime zest for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a blender or food processor.
- Add the honey, lime juice, vanilla extract, and salt to the blender. Blend until smooth and creamy.
- In a separate bowl, whip the chilled heavy cream with an electric mixer until soft peaks form.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the avocado mixture until fully combined, being careful not to deflate the cream.
- Spoon the mousse into serving dishes and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to chill and set.
- Before serving, garnish with lime zest if desired.
Notes
- For a chocolate twist, add 2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder to the avocado mixture before blending.
- Substitute maple syrup for honey for a vegan option.
