  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup hazelnut spread
  • 1 pre-made pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon coarse sugar (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the apple slices with lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon, and flour. Toss gently until the apples are evenly coated, then let them sit for about 10 minutes.
  3. On a floured surface, roll out the pie crust until it reaches a thickness of about 1/8 inch. Cut the dough into four circles, each approximately 6 inches in diameter.
  4. In the center of each circle, spread a generous layer of hazelnut spread, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
  5. Layer the marinated apple slices on top of the hazelnut spread, slightly overlapping them.
  6. Fold the edges of the dough over the apples, creating a rustic look by pleating the dough. Brush the outer crust with the beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse sugar.
  7. Arrange the galettes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the apples are tender.
  8. Allow the galettes to cool slightly before serving. They can be enjoyed warm or at room temperature.
