  • Author: Chef Hicham
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x
  • Diet: Low Carb

Description

Amish Hamburger Steak Bake is a comforting, low-carb dish featuring seasoned beef patties baked with mushrooms, cheese, and a creamy cauliflower rice sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup cauliflower rice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for another 3-4 minutes until softened.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme. Mix well and form into 4 patties.
  5. In the same skillet, sear the patties for about 3 minutes on each side until browned. Remove the patties and set aside.
  6. In the skillet, pour in the beef broth and bring to a simmer, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom.
  7. Stir in the heavy cream and cauliflower rice, mixing well.
  8. Return the patties to the skillet, spooning some of the sauce over them. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  9. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the patties are cooked through.
  10. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider topping the dish with fresh parsley or chives before serving.
  • You can also substitute the ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
  • Serve with pork rinds or cucumber slices for a crunchy side.
