Description
Amish Hamburger Steak Bake is a comforting, low-carb dish featuring seasoned beef patties baked with mushrooms, cheese, and a creamy cauliflower rice sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup cauliflower rice
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for another 3-4 minutes until softened.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme. Mix well and form into 4 patties.
- In the same skillet, sear the patties for about 3 minutes on each side until browned. Remove the patties and set aside.
- In the skillet, pour in the beef broth and bring to a simmer, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom.
- Stir in the heavy cream and cauliflower rice, mixing well.
- Return the patties to the skillet, spooning some of the sauce over them. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the patties are cooked through.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider topping the dish with fresh parsley or chives before serving.
- You can also substitute the ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
- Serve with pork rinds or cucumber slices for a crunchy side.
