Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice, 1/4 cup of sugar, and cinnamon. Spread the apple mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.

- In a separate bowl, cream the softened butter with the remaining 1/4 cup of sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg, then stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Pour the batter over the apples in the baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.
